I'm walking into the bank where you're a teller.
I'm approaching your desk.
I'm holding a gun to your face,
give me all your cash, your wallet, your watch!
give me the combination to the safe!
you have those two choices:
One: do what I say.
I'll leave without further incident and you can go back about your business.
Two: if you refuse,
I'm going to shoot you in the fucking face.
*only a fool would aspire to martyrdom at this point.
the fucking bank is insured, why would you care about their money over your life?
you have a wife, a 2 year old son and a new-born daughter to feed at home.
you have a mortgage for a house you couldn't afford,
and that you only bought to stop the bitching of your unsatisfied wife
while all she does is use your paycheck to smoke meth and buy shoes she doesn't need.
so while these curses of being a modern day middle class white male might be enough to lead one to suicide,
you probably won't off yourself, or let me off you.
you'll take door #1
you'll give me the money.*
Now I'm at the front of your church, or your mosque, or whatever the fuck,
preaching the truth and the infinite wisdom of your God.
my voice begins to escalate.
I look the entire congregation in the eye all at once as I speak
and again you only have two choices:
One: do what I say
accept what I'm saying as truth, and live it
Two: refute it
you will suffer for time and all eternity in the fire of all fires
and be trapped in the pain and suffering
religion and armed robbery.
both have an ultimatum.
both force you to choose between happiness and suffering, life and death.
both are aimed to leave you scarred and scared and helpless if you choose number 2.
so really, what are the differences between the two subjects?
the only difference is religion isn't holding a gun to your head,
it's holding a gun to something not quite as visible; your "eternal soul."
and firing their bullets made of all of their own insecurities and despair.
fuck you all.
religious people deserve to be sharing a jail cell with "Baby Face" Nelson.
except he's dead.
so maybe they should follow suit.
